About this Event
At our most recent Mastek4Good meetup, we moved from good intentions into genuine understanding. Together, we took a deep dive into the charity’s current challenges around using their existing systems, exploring where friction appears, where time is lost, and where better support could make a meaningful difference. We then broke out into several workshop groups to unpack those challenges, share perspectives, and start identifying practical opportunities for change.
The session closed with a thoughtful and energising panel featuring guests from AWS and Simon on the Streets, where we discussed what helps community technology projects succeed: listening before building, staying focused on real user needs, keeping solutions proportionate, and making sure that any technical work genuinely serves the charity and the people they support.
At our next meetup, we move into action. We’ll be looking at how we design, plan and integrate a potential solution in a way that is useful, safe, secure and sustainable. We’ll start shaping the project charter, clarifying how we work together, what success looks like, and how we keep momentum without rushing into the wrong thing. We’ll also close with a panel focused on the practical realities of making this work: how we maintain energy, coordinate volunteers, make sound decisions, and build something that creates lasting value beyond the room.
