About this Event
Join us in London for the launch of "Guidance for Disclosure on Human Rights Due Diligence in Mining Sector Procurement." Created by the Mining Shared Value (MSV) programme of Engineers Without Borders Canada and funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), this guidance will assist mining sector companies to share information on how they conduct human rights due diligence (HRDD) during the procurement of goods and services, both to be compliant with all legislation and standards, but also to identify areas for improvement and drive more ethical procurement.
The MSV team will present the guidance and show how mining sector companies and the consultants they work with can use it to meet any and all requirements for sharing information on HRDD in procurement: due diligence legislation like the new EU CSDDD and Canadian forced labour legislation; mining sector standards and reporting frameworks, and also the criteria of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) rating agencies.
With the urgent need for more minerals to fuel the energy transition, scrutiny on the supply chains of raw materials is only going to increase, as well as soft and hard law for HRDD, and this this event offers an opportunity to explore how the guidance can help practitioners navigate the complexities of various regulations, standards and ESG rating criteria, and to get ahead.
The launch will be followed by an in-person reception to keep the conversation going!
