EDEN 2.0
By Kimberly Shimer
Sunday, August 11th, 3pm
About the show:
According to the biblical story in Genesis, Eve cursed both herself and Adam when she insisted he try the fruit from the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden. But what if, in fact, Adam was to blame? What if a lie and a supposed video glitch wrongly convicted Eve, leading to millennia of gender inequality? Can a present-day intern at the Command Center in "Almost Heaven, West Virginia" make things right?
About the playwright:
Kimberly Shimer is a full-time Director of Communications for Merion Mercy Academy, and frequently performs in shows at Players Club of Swarthmore. She has written four full length plays—A Ghost of a Chance, Dear Elsie: Kafka’s Letters from a Lost Doll, Eden 2.0, and Cataclysmic Fence Mending—and two 10-minute plays—Talking Over Tea and The World Needs More Trees. A Ghost of a Chance, her first full-length comedy, received a staged production during Cincinnati LAB Theatre’s New Works Festival in 2023. Kimberly earned a graduate certificate in Practical Theatre at Villanova University, where she studied under playwrights Michael Hollinger and James Ijames.
