As part of After School Special: The 2024 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a screening of last year's blockbuster hit Barbie (2023). The Academy Award winner is back on the big screen for one night only, followed by a conversation with several alumni from SVA's 3D Animation and Visual Effects program: Kyle Anderson, John-Michael Buban, Lamie Doan, Tara Marie Jacobson, and Christina Shin. Join these visual effects artists as they discuss how their behind-the-scenes artistry brought Barbie to life!
Synopsis: Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.
Barbie is rated PG-13, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13. Children ages 3 and under may not be admitted.
Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening. Guests can enjoy a special selection of videos by SVA alumni in the lobby while waiting to enter.
Ticket Information
All After School Special 2024 screenings are free and open to the public. General Admission RSVPs via Eventbrite are appreciated, but not necessary, and do not guarantee admittance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
