The event was inspired by a spontaneous creative vision centered around:

• Celebrating Black boat captains
• Bringing visibility to Black-owned boating businesses
• Creating cultural community engagement around Juneteenth
• Producing future marketing content for captains and partners
• Establishing a scalable annual waterfront cultural activation

The activation is designed to highlight an often-overlooked sector of Black entrepreneurship:

• Showcase Black captains operating from the marina
• Increase future bookings and visibility for captains
• Create a community-centered Juneteenth celebration
• Introduce audiences to boating culture and opportunities
• Support Black-owned small businesses
• Build long-term relationships and annual event potential
• Produce premium multimedia content for future marketing
