Event Vision

The event was inspired by a spontaneous creative vision centered around:

  • Celebrating Black boat captains
  • Bringing visibility to Black-owned boating businesses
  • Creating cultural community engagement around Juneteenth
  • Producing future marketing content for captains and partners
  • Establishing a scalable annual waterfront cultural activation

The activation is designed to highlight an often-overlooked sector of Black entrepreneurship:
