“La Vida en el Surrealismo: Anatomia del Reflejo” The Spring ‘26 Fashion event! A night of fine art, fashion, reflection, and emotion. A recent UIW fashion graduate, San Antonio fashion designer Dan Williams showcases their Spring ‘26 runway collection surrounded by fellow San Antonio artists and creatives complimentary work.

Anatomía del Reflejo explores reflection as both emotional reckoning and structural examination. Drawing from Latin American Surrealism and the self-portrait practice of Frida Kahlo, the collection approaches the body as a site of memory, discipline, and transformation. Rather than romanticizing pain, the work dissects it—revealing growth beneath emotional residue.

Influenced by the heritage-driven practice of Wifredo Lam, the collection also reflects a process of reconnecting with Afro-Cuban and Creole lineage. Identity is not treated as aesthetic reference, but as foundation—embedded in construction, material choice, and method.

Structured cotton twills, corsetry techniques, and hand-finished detailing emphasize internal architecture. Skeletal motifs and tailored silhouettes suggest both vulnerability and restraint, balancing exposure with control.

Unlike previous collections shaped by urgency and emotional turbulence, this collection is grounded in clarity. It marks a shift from reaction to awareness—standing as a testimony to growth, accountability, and intentional craft.
