Anarchotech is the rhythmic noise and industrial techno solo project of Chicago-based artist Rob Boyle. As DJ Sprite, he co-founded Chicago’s first regular rhythmic noise night in the early 2000s and later became a resident for Chicago’s legendary Neo nightclub. He has delivered relentless beats to industrial clubs and festivals around the world, including Das Bunker (LA), Kinetik Fest (Canada), Wasteland Weekend (Mojave), Lakes of Fire (Michigan), Unterwasser (Netherlands), Die Nacht (Tokyo), and WGT’s Noize Floors (Germany). He is currently a resident of the monthly Nexus 6 night at Subterranean and occasionally streams with his partner DJ Flesh_Bot at https://twitch.tv/anarchotech. His DJ sets portray a deep familiarity with a wide range of industrial and techno styles. While he favors aggressive rhythmic noise and dark/hard techno, he regularly forays into the driving beats of EBM and dark synth. He can just as capably handle the melodies of IDM, witch house, peak techno, and similar electronica. His sets also focus on newer sounds rather than overplayed club classics.As a producer, Sprite first released a number of remixes before composing the tracks that make up his first release, Origin Stories. Released on the renown German label HANDS, Origin Stories invites its listeners on a journey through dense layers and evocative, sometimes soundtrack-like atmospheres. The tracks showcase a juxtaposition of machine-like precision and emotional depth, reflecting his interests in radical transhumanism and the subversive potential of technology to challenge power dynamics. This release was immediately accompanied by a performance at the Forms of Hands festival in Germany, along with an exclusive track on the festival’s compilation.Anarchotech’s journey is just beginning. He invites you along on a sonic exploration of the intersection of technology, power, and humanity in the digital age.

Invited festival appearances include Terminus Festival, Calgary July 2019, Cold Waves Chicago, Sept 2021, Skull Fest Detroit, Nov 2022 & Be Afraid of the Dark, & Sanctum Festivals, Chicago, Oct 2023. DJ Veganinblack has also organized and performed at her own events at Burning Man Festival, Black Rock City NV; The Fallen Log, Livewire, The Burlington, Bourbon on Division, Late Bar; & Epiphany Center for the Arts, Chicago.
