Analog Salon Presents: A Special Evening with Amy, Michael, and Molly McGrath: A Family Story of Music, Creativity, and Community in DenverAbout this Event
Home and work feed our routines. A third space feeds our soul.
Third spaces, places that aren’t home or work, are vital community anchors. They’re where neighbors become friends and creativity grows. They give us room to breathe, to connect, and to be more than just what we do or where we sleep.
Analog Salon is one of those spaces in Denver. It’s a monthly vinyl listening party where music, memory, creativity, and connection meet under one roof. Analog Salon invites people to unplug, slow down, and share space through the crackle of vinyl and the honesty of personal storytelling.
Each Analog Salon unfolds in three intentional phases:
Social Mixer & DJ Sets (6:00–7:00 PM)
Arrive to a room full of groove-worthy vinyl, drinks, and good energy. Local DJs spin genre-crossing, vinyl-only sets to warm up the room and encourage curiosity and conversation.
Storytelling Through Music (7:00–8:00 PM)
We welcome a featured guest—someone with a story to tell and a record to match. It’s storytelling through soundscape, where the tracks that shaped their life become windows into shared humanity.
Chill Vibes & Marketplace (8:00–9:00 PM)
As the night winds down, guests mingle and browse our rotating Analog Marketplace—a place for local creators to showcase books, vinyl, zines, art, and more.
Analog Salon exists to foster creativity, collaboration, and community engagement. It brings together Denver’s curious and creative spirits to celebrate music’s power to inspire and transform. In a world saturated by algorithms and isolation, Analog Salon offers something different: a space built on human presence, mutual listening, and cultural nourishment.
None of this happens alone. We’re lucky to work with partners who believe in the value of third spaces and the power of gathering: CoCreate, Cross-Pollinate Consulting, FM Boutique, Birdy Magazine, Division of Labor, and KGNU
Let’s keep showing up, together.

Analog Salon: McGrath Family Album- Music, Memory and Community in Denver.
Amy McGrath has spent nearly three decades helping shape generations of young artists as Co-Director of the Video Cinema Arts Department and Yearbook Advisor at Denver School of the Arts. A longtime educator, writer, and music journalist, she has played an important role in Denver's arts and music scene while helping foster creative communities both inside and outside the classroom.
Michael McGrath is one of Denver's most celebrated music photographers. For more than 30 years, he has documented the artists, concerts, and cultural moments that have defined the region's music scene. His work has appeared in The New York Times, the Denver Post, Vice, Relix, and he regularly shoots for Audiovore, which he and Amy run together. This year, his work was featured at a solo exhibition at Lane Meyer Projects, "The End is the Beginning, Recent + Early Work by Michael McGrath."
Molly McGrath has worn many hats in the Denver art world: writer, musician, DJ, all-out freakazoid and marketer for the iconic Twist and Shout Records. They are perhaps most proud, however, of being the child of celebrated local artists Michael and Amy McGrath. Through their work as an artist, storyteller, and cultural curator, Molly continues the family's deep connection to Denver's creative community.
