An Introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Why can't I just drink more water!?

Tammy Sollenberger, LCMHC
In the midst of stress and chaos sometimes we are advised to just start by doing one thing: drink more water. Or, we want to make a change but we don't. We want to be more healthy and we can't even do the simplest thing: drink more water. This workshop will help bring a new understanding to why we do the things we do by teaching the components of the IFS model, such as multiplicity of personality and the Authentic Self. We will learn the different types of parts and their relationship to each other. We will learn the "6 F's" to get to know some of our protective parts. All our parts, even the one who can't agree about drinking more water, have good intentions. When we befriend them with our Authentic Self, they can soften and we can make changes. Ultimately, we can heal. The Self is our internal natural leader who, when in the driver’s seat, helps us feel calm, connected, confident. In Self, we have clarity to reach goals and compassion for vulnerable parts of us.You will walk away with practical tools to begin implementing the model and, most importantly, you will have an opportunity to get to know your own internal family.
