About this Event
The Edinburgh Shetland Fiddlers, are a lively group of musicians dedicated to preserving and performing the rich fiddle traditions of Shetland. Their repertoire includes both classic island tunes and contemporary compositions, often characterised by driving rhythms, double-stopping, and the unmistakable swing of Shetland style influenced by Scandinavia and Scotland alike. The evening will celebrate the energy, tenderness and storytelling embedded in Shetland fiddle music.
The evening is dedicated to the memory of Elizabeth Peploe, a Shetland fiddler and Scotland’s first certified Suzuki violin teacher, whose musical influence shaped generations of players.
Expect an atmospheric evening filled with warmth, community, and foot-tapping melodies.
