HOW MUSIC SAVED MY LIFEOn 11 March 2026, Newton Manor Hall welcomes internationally renowned pianist and composer Antimo Magnotta, for a deeply moving evening of music and storytelling.
A survivor of the Costa Concordia shipwreck, Antimo has spent years transforming one of the most dramatic maritime disasters of our time into an intimate artistic journey. His concert, How Music Saved My Life, is not a retelling of the event itself, but a musical exploration of what remains after catastrophe: memory, silence, fear, and the fragile return to hope.
The evening will open with a short piano set by Dr Esther Rivas-Adrover, whose original compositions gently prepare the atmosphere. Antimo’s performance will then unfold through original piano works interwoven with brief spoken reflections and readings from his book of the same title.
This is not a conventional concert, but a shared experience — one that invites the listener to slow down, listen deeply, and reflect on the power of music to hold, heal, and transform human experience.
Following the performance, guests are invited to remain for a short Q&A session, offering an opportunity for dialogue and reflection.
