THE NEW EDUCATION
From Instruction to Self Knowledge
ESE Madrid presents an intimate evening with Elio D’Anna, Founder and President of the European School of Economics, exploring a radical rethinking of education.
The evening begins with drinks at 19:00h, providing a preliminary space for connection before the formal event at the European School of Economis Madrid campus.
For decades, D’Anna has challenged conventional models of instruction, arguing that true education begins not with information, but with self-knowledge. His philosophy proposes that before one can lead, create, or innovate in the world, one must first know oneself. One must be capable of remaining present to one’s own Being, and capable of thinking, creating, and acting from that inner origin.
True knowledge, in his view, is not the product of education and cannot be imposed; it must emerge from within. True knowledge is only self-knowledge. Drawing on his work with global leaders, entrepreneurs, and students across Europe and the United States, D’Anna will explore how self-awareness, responsibility, and imagination form the foundation of meaningful achievement.
In a world shaped by accelerating technology and the apparent collapse of an arcane educational system, this conversation aims to pose an essential question: will Universities awaken and transform, or will they remain monuments to a world that no longer exists?
Hosted in the intimate setting of Inner Space at Town Hall, the evening offers an opportunity to engage directly with one of Europe’s most distinctive educational thinkers through a keynote presentation and a guided discussion.
