An enchanting musical program with piano accompaniment will be performed by Carol Wincenc, internationally renowned flautist, and Marti Sweet, Associate Violinist for 16 years with the NYC Metropolitan Opera and many years with the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra. Carol Wincenc, at the outset of her legendary career, was hailed “Queen of the flute” by New York Magazine. She has received numerous awards including first prize winner of the Naumburg Solo Flute Competition, Lifetime Achievement Award from both the USA and China National Flute Associations, the National Society of Arts and Letters Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Music, and more. Marti Sweet, directly after graduating Juilliard, joined the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra as its youngest member, and with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Canada, recorded for the CBC. She has been concertmaster of the American Philharmonic Orchestra, the Spoleto Festival Orchestra (Italy), and concertmaster for Tony Bennett, Charles Aznavour and Carly Simon. She has appeared in concert and recorded with Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Wynton Marsalis, Quincy Jones, Julie Andrews, Placido Domingo, amongst others.
