About this Event
Join us in Waterstones Kensington for an evening of secrets, intrigue and thrills as we are joined by a trio of trailblazing crime authors, B.P Walter (The Garden Party), Fiona Cummins (All of us Are Broken) and Michael Wood (Vengeance is Mine) who will be discussing their latest novels.
B.P. Walter is the Sunday Times bestselling author of seven suspense thrillers. Born and raised in Essex, he studied Film and English at the University of Southampton before taking an MA in Film and Cultural Management. Whilst working in Social Media for Waterstones he enrolled in the Faber Academy which led to the publication of his debut novel A Version of the Truth in 2019. Walter’s second novel Hold Your Breath came out in 2020 followed by The Dinner Guest in 2021, which was a Waterstones Thriller Book of the Month, a Sunday Times Top 10 Bestseller and a Number 1 Times Bestseller. Since then he has written The Woman on the Pier, The Locked Attic and Notes on a M**der. He now writes full time and his new suspense thriller The Garden Party publishes Summer 2024. Later in the year he will branch out into horror fiction under the name Barnaby Walter with the chilling novel Scuttle, publishing in October.
Michael Wood is the author of the bestselling DCI Matilda Darke novels set in Sheffield, South Yorkshire where he was born and raised. Book 12 in the series, Last One Left Alive, is published this autumn. 2024 saw Michael launch a new series featuring forensic psychologist, Dr Olivia Winter, who travels the world interviewing incarcerated serial killers in the hope of discovering why they K*ll. The first book, The Mind of a Murderer, was published to acclaim in March. He is also the author of three standalone thrillers: The Seventh Victim, Vengeance Is Mine and Chapter One. He currently lives in Newcastle and writes full time.
Fiona Cummins is an award-winning former journalist and a graduate of the Faber Academy, where she now teaches her own Writing Crime course. She is the internationally bestselling author of six crime thriller novels, all of which have received widespread critical acclaim from household names including Val McDermid, Lee Child, David Baldacci, Martina Cole and Ian Rankin. Her books, which include Rattle and When I Was Ten, have been translated into several languages and three have been optioned for television. Her fifth novel, Into The Dark, the first in a series featuring DC Saul Anguish, was described by the Daily Mail as ‘breathtakingly good’ and was shortlisted for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year 2023. Her sixth book, All Of Us Are Broken, is a current Richard and Judy book club pick. When Fiona is not writing, she can be found on Twitter (or should that be X?), eating biscuits or walking her dogs. She lives in Essex with her family.
The Q&A will last for approximately one hour and will be followed by a signing. Books will be available to purchase in store.
