About this Event

Avery Curran joins us to launch her debut novel, boarding school horror Spoiled Milk!
Spoiled Milk sees murderous deeds and dark goings on at a girls' boarding school in the 1920s, with a murdered classmate sending one of her friends on a perilous investigation to uncover the secrets and lies around her - and that she is telling herself. Avery Curran channels the indelible ambience and intrigue of the classic boarding school novel while turning the beloved genre on its head in this visceral, exuberant debut.
Avery will be discussing the enduring pull of ghost stories, the legacy of the boarding school novel, and the role of physicality and food in horror, before signing copies of her book.
