About this Event
The Iota Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on November 14, 1970, as the first graduate chapter in Prince George’s County, Maryland. We are commemorating our 55th year as the premier chapter continuing to serve the residents of Prince George’s County. Since our chartering, we have implemented service programs that are outlined by our International President and the other initiatives to include our signature Ivy League programs that are tailored to the unique needs of our community.
In celebration of our chapter’s rich history and impact, we are cordially inviting you to our 55thAnniversary Gala, An Evening of E.M.E.R.A.L.D. Elegance on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at The Hotel at the University of Maryland, College Park. There will be a public reception at 6pm and the Gala will start promptly at 7pm. We will honor outstanding individuals and organizations in the community who have supported and partnered with us over the past 55 years.
