About this Event
Home to cedar trees, mountains, coastline, culinary excellence, academic brilliance, a cultural capital, the signer Fairuz, and numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, yet 23 times smaller than the UK, Lebanon deserves more than survival. The people of Lebanon deserve food security, safety and self-determination. They deserve the life they were building as the scars from the civil war faded into history.
With a diaspora larger than its own population, around the world we get to appreciate Lebanese cuisine while so many inside the country can’t access basic food requirements.
Through turmoil and conflict, Lebanese people still manage to come together celebrating each other and having fun, which is why we are coming together on the 9th May to raise money for Beit El Baraka and the Lebanese Red Cross over a home-cooked Lebanese meal.
Our chef for the evening is part of the Lebanese diaspora in London and the granddaughter of Alfred (Junior) Kettaneh who stayed in Lebanon during the Civil War to drive ambulances for the Lebanese Red Cross while his wife and daughters fled to safer cities.
Beit El Baraka provides food security, education and housing rehabilitation to people in Lebanon, and since 3rd March they have served over 225,000 cooked meals across 17 collective shelters.
- Dinner will be served at 8pm
- DJ set (tbc) starting at 10pm when we invite 30 more people

- At 11:30 we will be holding an auction (contact us if you have prizes to add)
