About this Event
We've been inundated with requests from our inquisitive Tufnell Park customers to host a tasting centred around the world of sparkling wine so we've decided to pop the cork and let the bubbles flow. There was a period of time when the sparkling wines of Champagne caused bottles to explode under their extreme pressure until the local monks decided to harness the power of fizz. Join us to taste hundreds of years of history and ingenuity which has led us to traditional method Champagnes; the subversive sparklers of Catalunya and rare finds that use indigenous grapes and ancestral methods from the Southwest of France.
There are myriad ways in which effervescence can be created, but one things for sure this tasting will put some fizz in your step and prepare you for the long-awaited aperitivo hour of summer!
Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
