About this Event
Peacebuilding initiatives often fall short—not because of a lack of effort, but because of deeper political, social, and contextual challenges.
This AmityPoint workshop creates a shared space for participants to critically examine why peace efforts struggle in contemporary conflicts and what this reveals about the assumptions, trade-offs, and power dynamics shaping peace processes today.
Rather than focusing on quick fixes or prescriptive solutions, the workshop invites participants to reflect on:
- How political realities influence peacebuilding outcomes
- The gap between formal peace processes and lived experiences on the ground
- Recurring patterns and blind spots in conflict resolution efforts
Through guided discussion and collective reflection, participants will explore how peace processes might better respond to complex contexts while remaining grounded in the realities of those most affected by conflict.
This workshop is ideal for practitioners, researchers, students, and anyone interested in understanding peacebuilding beyond surface-level solutions.
