"Amara Terra Mia" is a contemporary dance performance inspired by the iconic Italian song "Amara Terra Mia", widely associated with the voice of Domenico Modugno. Rooted in a sense of longing for one's homeland, the work reinterprets this motif through a present-day lens.
The performance reflects on the human need for belonging – to a place, a country, a land, or even a planet. Expanding this idea beyond geography, the piece turns toward the scale of the cosmos. What does it mean to belong to Earth itself, as a shared and fragile planet moving through space?
Moving between personal and collective experience, the performers navigate states of attachment and displacement. Rather than telling a linear story, the work unfolds as a continuous process - a shared space where identities are formed, lost, and reimagined. Within it, a sense of alienness is not fixed, but experienced - by both performers and audience.
