About this Event
Push your wheel-thrown work beyond symmetry in this two-day intensive focused on altered and expressive forms. In this hands-on workshop, students will explore techniques such as cutting, paddling, faceting, darting, and reshaping thrown vessels to create movement, intention, and individuality in their work.
This workshop is best suited for students who are comfortable centering and throwing basic forms and are ready to experiment with new approaches to form. Demonstrations will emphasize timing, clay thickness, and structural integrity, with plenty of guided studio time to explore and refine techniques.
Work created during the workshop will be bisque fired and ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks after the class concludes. Students are invited to return during Open Lab hours to glaze their pieces. Lab Members may glaze as part of their membership; non–Lab Members are welcome to return for glazing with a $40 glaze and firing fee.
Prerequisite: Students should be comfortable centering and throwing basic forms.
