About this Event

The Allies in Action Build-A-Kit Event brings our community together to assemble 1,500 school supply kits for marginalized students including LGBTQ+ youth, recent immigrants, and children with disabilities. In a time when inclusion is under attack, this event is our stand for equity, kindness, and giving every child the tools they need to thrive.

Alongside packing kits, guests can join engagement activities like making friendship bracelets for the cause, and we hope to welcome Illinois Senator Mike Simmons, who will share his story of overcoming school bullying as an LGBTQ+ child of immigrants.
