The Impressionists were devoted to painting outdoors and capturing the changing light and atmosphere of the natural world.
Join RiverBrink and local artist David Antscherl for a hands-on plein air painting workshop in the medium of your choice. Working outdoors can feel intimidating, but David will help break the process into manageable steps whether you work in oil, acrylic, watercolour, or another medium.
Topics include translating observation onto canvas, simplifying outdoor subjects, understanding chiaroscuro, and using warm and cool hues effectively. Participants will receive a short list of materials to bring in advance.
