This class is hosted by a trained perinatal nurse and IBCLC. By integrating both clinical and community experience, the educator provides learners with the ability to differentiate between the education they are taught within a hospital setting and how those strategies change once they are home with their newborn baby.
Topics include:
- Prenatal Colostrum Collecting
- How human milk is made
- How to properly latch and position an infant
- Normalizing weight loss of an infant
- Complications of breastfeeding: engorgement, mastitis, thrush
