Alaska Blonde is a trio that defines itself as a surf band, but their waves do not only come from the sea. With electric guitar, balalaika bass and drums, they move in an instrumental and cinematic landscape where surf meets klezmer, Middle Eastern scales and raw, psychedelic energy. The music is without vocals, but speaks its own language – direct, sensual and physical.
On February 20, Alaska Blonde released their debut single Fjällröv – a track that has been played live for years before it found its form in the studio. Here you can hear the trio's love for persistent guitar themes, trance and repetitions that slowly unfold and draw the listener into a hypnotic flow. It is music that can be experienced both introverted and meditative – and at the same time insistent and propulsive.
For Alaska Blonde, instrumental music is not only about immersion, but also about community. The concerts are physical and energetic, and the repetitive groove invites the audience out of their chairs.
