Bio:
Akindeyah is a New York City-based Jamaican-American vocalist, pianist, and percussionist from Long Island, New York. His original music transcends genre, developing lyric-driven compositions that incorporate rhythmic, unconventional chord progressions to create soundscapes that tug at feelings of love, rejection, and passion. Teaming up with Flatbu$h Funktion—a Brooklyn-based music duo composed of Grammy Award-winning music director and Emmy-nominated drummer Swiss Chris and Haitian Gospel/Funk pianist Benjee—together, Akindeyah & Flatbu$h Funktion present live House Music performances influenced by the soul of church music and the heartbeat of the diaspora. Their style fuses Afro-Diasporic music influence ranging from Afro-Cuban Rumba, Bossa Nova, and Konpa presented in contemporary, spirit-filled soundscapes.
