Aino's story – our story is a completely new kind of concert experience composed by the singing collective Sabrina and the Saarten daughters.
The work is based on a story familiar from Kalevala about a young woman in the midst of life's biggest decisions and most demanding pressures. The themes of Aino's story are familiar to people today: the challenges of young people's independence sexual violence mental health problems exclusion from the surrounding community conflicting relationship with mothers. There is a comforting message through the work: even the most painful grief can be overcome or at least you can learn to live with it.
The ensemble has composed all the music together under the guidance of its artistic director Sabrina Ljungberg.
