About this Event
AI agents are moving beyond conversation into action. Drawing from his experience building applied AI systems, Ioannis Mesionis will unpack the core building blocks behind agentic behavior, including decision-making, tool use, and memory, and how these components come together in production environments.
Ioannis is an accomplished data leader with over six years of experience. In his current role at King, part of Microsoft, he leverages his extensive expertise in Python, machine learning, MLOps, and machine learning engineering best practices to deliver data-driven solutions. Ioannis excels at managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders to translate complex business problems into actionable insights. Previously, Ioannis was a Lead Data Scientist at easyJet, where his responsibilities ranged from conceptualizing and implementing models to leading data science projects and mentoring colleagues. His technical proficiency encompasses machine learning algorithms, recommendation and ranking frameworks, data pre-processing, feature engineering, model evaluation, deployment, and performance optimization.
Event Overview
AI agents represent the next step beyond chatbots. Ioannis Mesionis explores how agents are designed, what enables them to make decisions and take action, and how these systems are already being applied in real-world use cases.
01 - From Chatbots to Agents
Understand how AI systems have evolved from reactive chat interfaces to autonomous agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing tasks.
02 - The Building Blocks of AI Agents
Learn how decision-making, tool use, and memory work together to power intelligent agents, and what engineers need to consider when designing them.
03 - AI Agents in Practice
Watch a live demo of a real-world agent use case and see how these systems operate outside of theory, delivering practical value through action.
