Enjoy an unforgettable night as the virtuoso Cuban guitarist, Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas, takes us on a unique musical journey, connecting the richness of Spanish music with vibrant Latin American rhythms. Their program encompasses rhythms from their Cuban roots and finds a path to evolve, alongside the inspiration provided by the professional journey of the musical arranger, composer, and guitarist María Camahort. This influence can be appreciated throughout the night, with successions of compositions such as Alba Nova, a guitar solo created during the confinement period in Barcelona that seeks to represent hope in uncertain times; Ponent, a composition divided into three parts inspired by two very special testimonies for the creator, based on the end of life and how our loved ones continue to live through their legacy and our memories; Avenir, a composition inspired by the Catalan word that gives it its name; and Agua Pura, a tribute to Cuban culture and music, commissioned by Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas himself, which combines influences from Cuban tradition with other examples of contemporary or author music.
Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas is considered one of the best guitarists of the Cuban classical school, with ten years of successful career in the United Kingdom where he has appeared on important stages such as the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the Barbican, on live programs of BBC Radio 3 and BBC London, and at festivals such as the London Classical Guitar Festival, Dublin Guitar Week, Hispano-American Guitar Festival in Mexico, Ukrainian Chamber Music Festival, and Havana International Guitar Festival in Cuba.
