Free BLS
BLS will be completed after your course, at no extra cost to you. Expect your American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Providers cards to be sent via email sometime before 5 PM the day of class.
Agenda
We start class with Introductions and directions."Hello! The bathroom is down the hall to the left."The actual class begins with a video segment, and between each video, we will discuss the highlights and answer any questions. Most of the first half of the day will be videos, hands-on practice, and testing.
The second half of the day will be dedicated to learning the drugs, algorithms and doing hands-on practice through several scenarios. Such as running a code using the drugs, a defibrillator, and a monitor. When everyone feels comfortable and all questions have been answered, then we will distribute the written test. There are 50 questions that are worth 2 points each. The minimum passing score is 84%.
Study Guide
Attached to your welcome email is a short 14-page Study Guide. Reading through it at least twice will almost guarantee a passing score. The study guide contains everything on the test. The more time you spend reading it, the easier the class will be for you.
What to Wear
Loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require you to work on your hands and knees. This course requires bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical condition that might prevent you from engaging in these activities, please tell an instructor. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have back, knee, or hip problems.
