About this Event
Presenter: Dr. Manojit Basu, Vice-President of Science Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Crop Life America (CLA)
Regulators are rapidly navigating from managing individual fluorinated chemicals to sweeping, class-based approaches. There are real concerns about overreach, as not all fluorinated chemistries are the same. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency already subjects pesticides to rigorous safety, health, and environmental review, and broad-brush policies risk sidelining science, constraining innovation, and disrupting food security. Dr. Basu explains why we should adopt a more precise, risk-based approach that protects public health while preserving the integrity of our highly regulated agricultural system.
