The team have paired up for a week of unique collaborative performances, sharing songs and stories about being on the road and the sometimes lonely path of the songwriter.
Their combined strengths as songwriters and performers will prove to be a truly unique evening for British lovers of thoughtful and authentic Americana music.
Ags Connolly's third album, Wrong Again (2019) has been described by Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 as “modern day traditionalism of the very, very best kind” and was named Album of the Year by Country Music People magazine while being described by songwriting legend Tom Russell as “killer”. Meanwhile, US music publications Billboard and Glide Magazine respectively praised the “deep and emotive vocals” and branded the album “a must listen” for fans of “real deal country music”. In late 2020, it was named Album Of The Year at the UK Country Music Awards.
Sarah Jane Scouten has been nominated for four Canadian Folk Music Awards including Traditional Album of the Year, Traditional Singer of the Year and English Language Songwriter of the Year. She's shared the stage with Martin Carthy, Martha Wainwright, Allison Russell, Mandolin Orange (Watchhouse), Daniel Romano, The Strumbellas and opened for Corb Lund, The Sadies and William Prince. Coming off the back of her wide ranging, electric 2019 album 'Confessions', Sarah Jane (who now lives in Southwest Scotland) is set to record her fifth studio album in Vancouver on Light Organ Records. Her latest songwriting sees a maturity in her return to roots as a bluegrass singer in a family band, exploring topics of marriage, loss, isolation and resilience.
