Here’s a fun and different program that lets kids get out of school and enjoy the outdoors after the bell rings. We’ll meet in the parks and wildlife preserves around Schenectady, at 4:30 p.m. on Fridays, so there’s plenty of time to get from school or home to our green locations. We’ll be there for about an hour. Activities will usually involve hunting for different plant and animal species and exploring what makes up different environments. All ages are welcome. Adults should accompany their children. The first four sessions will be May 1, 8, 15, 22, and are scheduled for Central Park, Woodlawn Preserve, Central Park, Woodlawn Preserve respectively. Central Park sessions will meet at the tennis courts, Woodlawn ones at the entrance at the end of Gifford Rd. Like most ECOS programs there’s no fee and pre-registration is not necessary, but you might want to pre-register to be sure of getting notifications of cancellations and, possibly, change of meeting sites. For this, or for more information, contact Steve Jones at [email protected], text (only) 518-688-4829; or visit the ECOS website at ecosny.org.
Meet you in the woods!
