About The Speaker:
Weriem is a French-Tunisian artist based in the U.S., whose work draws inspiration from the performing arts. She has exhibited widely, including solo shows in Chicago and upcoming work in Minneapolis, and has received awards such as the People’s Choice at the Bridgeport Art Center. Classically trained at the Palette & Chisel Academy and the Florence Academy of Art, and formerly a costume designer for opera, her work has been praised by the New York Times and Chicago Tribune. She has also given guest lectures at institutions including Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, Dickinson College, and Macalester College.
