About The Speaker:
Akash Parvatikar, PhD is an AI scientist and computational biologist specializing in biomedical imaging, digital pathology, and explainable artificial intelligence for cancer research. He earned his PhD from the joint Carnegie Mellon University–University of Pittsburgh program in Computational Biology, where his work focused on using machine learning and computer vision to better understand how pathologists detect and diagnose cancer from histopathology images. Today, he works at the intersection of AI and medicine, developing tools that help researchers and clinicians analyze complex tissue data more efficiently and accurately, with the goal of improving cancer diagnosis and accelerating drug discovery. He is also an active educator and international speaker, translating cutting-edge research into practical tools and insights for the broader medical and scientific community.
