The League’s monthly After Hours events, formerly called First Fridays, are informal social gatherings that allow members to visit the offices of leading design practices and see work on the boards.

NBBJ is a global multidisciplinary firm made up of over 800 architects, strategists, experiential designers, and clinicians. Known for innovative healthcare projects, the firm won the AIA’s Best in Healthcare Design award in 2024, informed by research from its specialized consultancy. Founded in Seattle in 1943 by Floyd Naramore, William J. Bain, Clifton Brady, and Perry Johanson, NBBJ aims to “create healthy places, strong communities, and a resilient environment,” in their own words. Across 12 international offices, 21 partners now lead the multidisciplinary firm’s architecture, interiors, lighting, landscape, and urban design projects.
