AfroFit™ is a rhythm-driven dance fitness program inspired by the diverse movement cultures of Africa and the African diaspora. It combines cardio, dance, functional training, and expressive movement to create a powerful, joyful, and high-energy workout for all levels.
In this program, students learn the core AfroFit™ concept and the essentials of Afro dance and African music rhythms. They discover how to create simple, effective choreographies and structure a complete AfroFit™ class from warm‑up to cool‑down. The training also provides practical guidance on launching a career as an AfroFit™ instructor, helping participants teach confidently, authentically, and safely.
This AfroFit™ Instructor Manual is a playbook designed for AfroFit™ certified instructors. It is designed to assist the instructor in planning, preparing and delivering effective & consistent AfroFit™ classes.

About Dante Mayilla Creator and Co-founder of AfroFit™
With more than 15 years of experience within the industry, Dante is a professional dancer, instructor and choreographer hailing from Paris, France. Originated from Cameroon, he is well known for his own style mixing hip-hop, afro & dancehall with strong musicality and storytelling choreographies.
Dante was resident choreographer teacher at Lax Studio, Paris since 2015 and also taught in the most prestigious French studios (MRG, Studio 16, Studio Attitude) before launching his own studio concept Soulnity Studio in 2020.
Among his numerous accomplishments, Dante clinched champion of French TV show La meilleure Danse 2012 with his former dance group HeyCrew. He taught masterclasses locally and internationally across Europe, South America, Dubai, China, Japan and most recently Malaysia & Singapore. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to perform and direct projects (stages, commercials, events) for French and International artists.
As a dance instructor, Dante is known for his generous and cheerful way of teaching and is actively involved in making urban dance fun, accessible and empowering to everyone.
In 2025, Dante joined JR FITNESS Singapore as an Afro dancehall dance instructor. His endless energy, unique way of teaching and personality made him become more popular among the students. In order to reach a wider audience and meet with the demand for fitness classes, Dante & JR FITNESS brought the concept of unique fitness dance class where workout becomes funnier and easier echoing to Afro sounds; AfroFit™ was created.
