Afghan Dinner & Concert Under the Stars
Join us for an unforgettable evening in Altadena for a home-style Afghan feast and the soulful sounds of traditional Afghan music performed by Mustafa Samyee & Azim Atta. It’s a night of connection, culture, and new friends and old, benefitting Miry's List in support of families resettling as refugees in California and 30 more states across the U.S.
Afghan Dinner & Concert Under the Stars is about deepening friendships through sharing simple, multi-sensory pleasures: Delicious food and gorgeous music. These connections creates stronger, more resilient communities and deepen cross-cultural understanding.

Proceeds from this event directly support Miry’s List core programs—helping newly arrived refugee families rebuild their lives and find belonging in Southern CA and across the United States.
We don't need to share a language to be able to communicate completely with our resettling neighbors. Look toward our human connections: Many of which don't require any language at all. The smell and simple joy of a delicious meal, enjoying a gorgeous piece of music, and deep love for our children. These are just a few examples of ways we can connect with one another as humans.
Since 2016, Miry's List has supported the resettlement experience for 1,462 refugee families made up of over 6,995 indiviudal people, half of whom are babies and children.
Though we may have different backgrounds and experiences, we come together as neighbors, and as human beings who want the best for each other.
