About This Event

Tic disorders, including Tourette’s disorder and related problems such as OCD, and ADHD, are highly prevalent in pediatric psychiatric practice. Understanding compelling tic related clinical issues, such as prevalence and presentation in females, risk for suicidal thoughts and behavior, and how to evaluate and disentangle complex cross-diagnostic symptoms remains challenging. New data on these important clinical questions and recommended approaches to address them in treatment will be discussed.

Learning Objectives
  • Define diagnostic criteria, prevalence and course of tic disorders and Tourette’s Disorder (TD)
  • Identify the spectrum of psychiatric disorders and related problems which frequently co-occur with Tourette’s Disorder (TD)
  • Consider fundamental basic and clinical science questions and their relationship to the evidence base on tics, Tourette’s disorder and related problems and apply to clinical practice
