About this Event
In this weekend intensive, students will learn to create scenes and songs on the fly while navigating fun and challenging short form mechanisms! Students will learn classic musical short form games made famous on shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway and Theatresports, while experimenting with musical versions of non-musical short form games. This intensive culminates in a showcase of musical games on Sunday, June 28 at 7:30pm. Prerequisite: This class is recommended for students who have taken Musical Improv Level One at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater or have equivalent training or experience.
Topics in the Course Include:
- Leaning into what is fun for the players and the audience
- Balancing songs structure, scene work, and short form mechanisms
- Making big, fun character and emotional choices on the fly
- Taking big risks and not being afraid to fail
This is a two day weekend intensive held Saturday, June 27 from 10am-6pm and Sunday, June 28 from 10am-6pm, followed by a showcase at 7:30pm. The instructors are Greg Mihalik & Josh Diamond. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment can be deferred to a future class. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
