About this Event

One Health Genomics Edinburgh and Edinburgh Infectious Diseases are delighted to be co-hosting this event – Advanced Applications of Sequencing Technologies for Infectious Diseases (AASTID) – on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

The aim is to connect colleagues across Edinburgh to share advances in sequencing technologies and the downstream genomic and genetic analyses for research in infectious diseases.

The keynote presentations will be given by Professor Jonathan Edgeworth, Honorary Professor in Clinical Infectious Diseases and Consultant Microbiologist at Kings College London, and VP Medical Affairs at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, and by Professor Nick Loman, Director of the Institute of Microbiology and Infection at the University of Birmingham.

Programme

A sandwich lunch will be available from 12.15 pm, and the first session will commence at 1 pm.

The event wil be held in the lecture theatre in the Institute of Genetics and Cancer at the Western General Hospital. Please note that parking is limited and travel by public transport is recommended.
