My Companion, Video, 07:30
According to a 2025 study by Harvard Business Review, the top use case of generative AI is now therapy and companionship. As we allow these new kinds of technologies to observe, measure and improve our personal and intimate lives, where are the boundaries? "My Companion" is a video work featuring extracts from interviews with Companion AI bots about the reasons for their own existence. Examples of "Data Intimacies" are explored such as personalised recommendations, fitness tracking, smart home automation, AI lovers and therapists. These conversations were held at home alone while doing chores to highlight how technology is deeply entangled in our private lives, yet is only able to offer a fleeting and immaterial sense of connection.

This short film presents the creation myth of the Wai Wai people, an Indigenous community from the northeast Amazon in Brazil. Narrated by Woxixaki Wai Wai, the story unfolds among historical objects belonging to the group, currently held in the collections of the Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg, Sweden. Filmed in 2023, the video was created during a visit by Wai Wai representatives as part of a collaborative research project hosted by the University of Gothenburg.

A green desert is what you call a forest where there is no biodiversity. Where monoculture reigns alone, undisturbed. The forest as a sacred temple of modernity in its silent disappearance. This video connects different forests, eucalyptus trees in Brazil, the Amazon, a pine plantation and a nature reserve in Sweden.

Vilma Määttänen produces pigments from the materials in her surroundings. She collects minerals and plants both from forests and fields and even from the outskirts of cities and wastelands.The blue colour in the painting is made from Woad leaves (Isatis tinctoria), which is a biennial, fairly tall smooth herb, growing 50–100 cm high, with bluish-green leaves and stem. It blooms in June–July with many small yellow flowers in dense clusters and with hanging seed pods.

In this series Nathalie S. Fari explores the peculiar and layered landscape of Ringön by placing her body in chosen sites. With her face concealed beneath a brightly colored bag, she conjures dystopian tableaux – set against backdrops ranging from a landfill to a stone hill and a rooftop.
On Saturday and Sunday from 15:00 to 16:00: Nathalie will lead a performative guided tour through the environments that shaped the series. (Limited places: 10).The tour will start at Tackjärnsgatan 3 and end at Enrico Pallazzot Stenkolsgatan 1A.
