Pre-requisites: Completion of Firefighter I

Course Description: This course is to give the student the requisite knowledge and skills to meet the intent of the NFPA 1002 Apparatus Driver/Operator professional qualifications standard. This course includes the responsibilities and a basic understanding of the design, maintenance, operations, and deployment of aerial apparatus. Students will be introduced to the various types of aerial apparatus and aerial devices that are used in the fire service, the inspection and maintenance of aerial apparatus, safe procedures for stabilization, aerial device operation, and the tactical deployment of aerial devices.
