We’re excited to announce the return of our long awaited South Australian Meet Up!When: Friday 22nd May 2026, 6.30pm

This event will be a fantastic opportunity for all our SA members to catch up and hopefully put all your heads together to assist the society, to find a new SA Rep!
David Brown has kindly offered up his beautiful space to allow our SA members to once again enjoy all the usual things we look forward to:
Guest Speaker: We are excited to announce that our guest speaker for the event will be David Brown from BB Architects.
David is an architect and self-confessed plant hoarder. His two main plant interests are aroids and palms. He has been a member of the Aroid society SA branch since it started in 2018. He is also the president of the Palm and Cycad Society of South Australia.
The event will be held in the BB Architects studio, which over the past 13 years has grown into an indoor jungle with well over 500 plants. It’s a good intimate space for a plant get together.
Selling at the Plant Sale: Our plant sale is a major highlight, and we’d love members to get involved:
o All current ASA members are welcome to sell
o Plant sellers please email [email protected] if you intend to sell so you can arrange to collect your sales tags prior to the event
o Aroids and any other plant genus are able to be sold
o Plant sales will be limited to 2 single standard nursery sized trays to allow for all members to sell and due to space constraints.
o Plants must be clearly labelled with ASA Society sales labels (ASA Society labels available on the day if needed)
o Bring a pen, a price list, and your bank details to complete a seller form
Seller timing: Sellers can arrive from 6pm to set up and prince your plants
Buying on the Day: Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just getting started, there’ll be plenty to explore. Bring a bag or box for your plant haul. EFTPOS and cash will both be available
Entry & RSVP
o ASA Members: Free (please RSVP via Join It)
o Non-members: Members are welcome to bring a guest as long as they sign in via the sign in sheet
o Kids under 12: Free
Food &; Drinks: Light refreshments will be available as well as members are encouraged to bring a plate to share. Please llet us know any dietary requirements in advance.
Raffles: Can members please bring a plant to donate towards our event raffle,the more plants we have the bigger the raffle!
Popular Vote: Bring along your favourite Aroid and you could win a 12 months ASA membership or a $25 voucher to be used at a future ASA event! You must have owed the plant for at least 6 months.
A quick heads up: We’ll be taking photos and videos on the day to share with the community. If you’d prefer not to be included, just let one of the volunteers know when you arrive.
