About the New Moon in Gemini
The New Moon in Gemini cycle (which begins on June 18) presents opportunities to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Twins. It’s time to improve our communication skills by listening to others and enjoying others’ points of view, rather than doggedly seeking to find that one elusive “answer.”
This is a good cycle in which to re-evaluate our communication and social skills by questioning just how much we actually take in information and communicate in a friendly, non-threatening manner. With this potent Gemini energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives.
About the Facilitators:
Dr. Melissa Castaneda
Melissa is a board certified acupuncturist and chinese herbalist. She holds a Diplomat in Oriental medicine and has been practicing since 2014 in Miami, FL. She offers a variety of treatments including acupuncture, moxa, cupping, electric stimulation & injection therapy. Additionally, she has a love for the ancient tradition of Bhakti yoga which led her to travel to India on spiritual pilgrimages and immersing herself into Kirtan. While in India, she was introduced to Ayurvedic bodywork and nutrition which compliments her degree in culinary arts obtained in San Francisco, CA. She holds the belief that everyone has what they need to heal within, and she is here to assist in the healing.
Dr. Kathy Maalouf
Kathy discovered yoga in 1999 and fell in love with the practice and closely follows the path and philosophy of yoga. She first hand has seen the benefits of yoga on the physical body, emotional, mental, and spiritual self.
After serving 25 yrs as a counselor, college professor, and administrator in higher education, Kathy decided to follow her true soul calling and become a holistic healer and transformational coach. She completed her 200HR YTT in Hatha Vinyasa yoga and Sound Healing Certification with Synergy Yoga Center. She is a Reiki Master and holds a doctoral degree in Counseling and a master’s degree in Psychology.
Kathy teaches her classes with love and compassion. She creates a beautiful healing experience using essential oils, sound baths, and chakra balancing. She facilitates the monthly reiki circles and offers weekly meditation/sound bath classes in addition to teaching gentle flow and hatha yoga. She also offers private sessions for chakra balancing, reiki, and sound therapy.
Kathy spends her free time dancing, traveling, reading, and playing on the beach with her sweet little chihuahua Vito.
