About this Event
You've got the concept. Maybe a demo. Possibly a team. But how do you turn that into an actual business? This session is for aspiring games founders who want a straight talk on: setting up a studio, getting your legal and financial foundations right, hunting down grants and investment, and tapping into the networks and resources that can keep you going while you build. Real studios. Real stories. No fluff.
We’ll hear from three Norwich companies:
- Moss Monkey Games, about to launch their first title Outclaw after coming together as a studio team at Norwich University of the Arts
- Newfangled Games, an established indie studio who published multi award-winning Paper Trail in 2024 – and are hard at work on their next title
- Akcela Ventures, a startup incubator which has helped several local games studios with space, support and connections to financing.
Recommended for ages 16+, particularly suited to those actively thinking about starting a games studio. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
After the session, we will be heading over to Marzano for a casual networking meet up. Feel free to come along, grab a drink and chat about what opportunities are out there!
