About this Event
Acting Intensive for Film & TV Actors
An Introduction to Training at LACAE
Curious about how actors train at LACAE Theatre and School?
This three-hour acting intensive is designed as an exploratory introduction to our school and teaching philosophy. Instead of a lecture or open house, actors participate in a working lab environment that reflects how we approach training: craft and career in the same conversation, practical tools over theory, and honest discussion about how actors build momentum.
For actors who have been considering deeper training in Los Angeles, this session offers a chance to step into the room, work with our instructors, and experience the LACAE approach firsthand.
What We'll Explore
Mindset + Career Direction
Erin Coleman & Adam Chambers
We begin with the bigger picture. What is actually happening in the acting industry right now? Where are actors losing traction, and what does real forward momentum look like?
This session focuses on clarity and ownership. We'll look at materials, strategy, and practical adjustments actors can make to move their careers forward.
Short-Form Improv for Auditions
Erin Coleman
Improvisation sharpens instinct and confidence.
This session explores how short-form improv can strengthen commercial auditions, build cleaner buttons in self-tapes, and keep your choices active rather than stiff or over-rehearsed. These tools also support writing and creating your own work.
Emotional Access: Process Over Panic
Adam Chambers
Strong emotional work comes from control, not chaos.
Adam will guide actors through a grounded, repeatable process for accessing emotional depth in a sustainable way—tools actors can rely on in auditions, rehearsal, and performance.
About LACAE
The Los Angeles Community of Acting & Entertainment (LACAE) is a training and performance community built for actors working in film, television, and digital media. Our programs focus on helping artists develop their craft while building sustainable careers in the industry.
This intensive is part of the LACAE Lab series, which we offer in place of traditional open houses or auditing. Rather than observing, actors get a hands-on experience of how we train.
