After exploring how to block light and dark values to build tone in a paint along demonstration, we’ll move on to painting our very own still lives using beautiful references. This class is a great jumping off point if you’re interested in painting acrylic landscapes, painting reproductions, portraits and more—as Ann will be running future beginner classes in these subjects in the medium as well!

About your teacher:
Ann Mackowski is an internationally exhibited artist and teacher. She founded Soho Life Drawing in 2016 to provide an affordable and accessible drop-in creative and social outlet in central London for artists and non-arts based professionals alike. She is passionate about art-making's ability to improve personal wellbeing, and believes the process has a benefit that people should be encouraged to enjoy without intimidation.
In addition to life drawing and illustration, Ann is an experienced landscape artist and tutor and was featured on Sky’s Landscape Artist of the Year. She offers group instruction, with clients including Buzzfeed, Liberty, and the University of the Arts London. Privately, she provides technical training for established artists.
