About the Two-Day Workshop
Dates & Times: April 30th, 1 PM - 5 PM and May 1st, 12 PM - 4 PM
Abuse and neglect remain serious risks for vulnerable adults in California. Adult Protective Services receives over 200,000 reports of elder and dependent adult abuse each year statewide, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience significantly higher rates of victimization than the general population.
Effective prevention begins with well-trained staff and a strong culture of open communication across all levels in the organization.
The California Abuse Prevention & Ethics Train-the-Trainer Certification Workshop is designed for professionals responsible for training, compliance, and quality assurance in organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Participants will learn how to effectively train staff on reporting maltreatment, maintaining ethical boundaries, and upholding an organizational culture of zero tolerance for abuse, neglect or exploitation.
