21+. 9pm.Abraham is an Avondale-based pianist, vocalist, and professional overthinker. When he was 11, he began writing songs about middle age. Perhaps it was a little premature? Three decades later, his songs celebrate and skewer marriage, fatherhood, middle-class ambition, and the paranoid remains of the American dream.
Since 2003, Abraham has led Baby Teeth [https://www.babyteeth.band/], a keyboard trio known for lean pop-rock, thick vocal harmonies, generous hooks, and witty lyrics. Along the way, he was a member of glam-rock heroes Bobby Conn & the Glass Gypsies [https://www.theguardian.com/music/2004/jan/16/popandrock.shopping3], and co-host of the beloved game show Shame That Tune [https://soundcloud.com/shamethattune], where he improvised response songs to contestants’ embarrassing diary entries.
Abraham’s solo shows are a mix of soulful piano, smooth vocals, and just the right amount of self-deprecating humor. Expect a night of songs, stories, and maybe a few existential crises thrown in for good measure.
